Ministry Mission:  In accordance with the charge given in Acts 6: 3-8, the Deacon Ministry is committed to assisting the Pastor in his mission as Shepherd to this membership.

As selected servants, the Deacon Ministry recognizes the loving heart of God and the genuine concern for the spiritual and material needs of the membership.  We meet this challenge by first being filled with his spirit and guidance.  Our commitment involves becoming the hands and feet of Jesus reaching out to those in need.  We strive to carry out this mission in faith and continuous prayer.

DEACONESSES ARE SERVANTS: “I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchrea. I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been a great help to many people, including me.” (Romans 16:1-2)

The Deaconess Ministry is a group of women who are baptized believers chosen and consecrated to be servants in the church with the primary role of assisting the Pastor and Deacons Ministry in administering the ordinances of baptism and communion, as well as the care and visitation of the church members who are bereaved, sick or shut-in.  Deaconesses serve to help mentor and develop other women of the church to also become more spiritually mature, godly women equipped and ready to serve.  A Deaconess serves not to be seen, but that others may see Christ in the beauty of holiness.

Ministry Mission:  We, the trustees of the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, strive through the power of the Holy Spirit, to be used as vessels for Christ in this branch of Zion. With Christ as our example, and His ministry as our model, we understand that the nature of our ministry is SERVICE, the motive of our ministry is LOVE, the measure of our ministry is SACRIFICE and the purpose of our ministry is to GLORIFY GOD. Serving in unity, we embrace the vision of the church and support the work of the Pastor in the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ.

The purpose of the Christian Education Department is to promote Christian Education and effective spiritual, numerical, and financial growth that we might carry out the divine commission. ”Go ye therefore and teach all nations.”
The Courtesy Committee of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church strives to make everyone comfortable when attending services.  The committee especially hopes to encourage visitors and new parishioners in becoming full and active members of our faith community.  We strive to create an inviting spirit where all are welcomed and valued as gifted individuals, and in response, share their personal faith, grace, and talents in service to others, which enhances our community.

Any person, couple, or family that is looking for a great place to worship and to know that this is where they have been led by the grace of God, we welcome you!

We will comfort God’s people as it says in Isaiah 40:1.Our immediate goal is to minister to the mothers in need of our guidance. We, the core mothers, will allow God to show us how to teach and train other mothers to become foundational members through prayer and seeking God’s face, His will and His ways. (Titus 2:3-5).

Mission Statement:  The mission of the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church Music Ministry is to proclaim the word of God through “music”. The music ministry is not an object to be admired so much as an instrument to teach, comfort, inspire, persuade, convince and motivate.
